MECA School Objectives
The main objective of our school is to assist Muslim youth to fully understand, embrace, and practice Islam in their daily life according to the teaching of Quran and the Sunah. We aim to build students who are well rounded and well balanced in their faith, behavior, and academic achievements. Students are enrolled at the school by the age of 5, and go through the various levels of education until the age of 16.

Goals
A student who has attended for 12 years of MECA School should achieve the foloowing goals:
  • Recitation of Quran. The student will learn how to read Quran. This, however, requires very active follow-up by parents at home
  • Memorization of Quran. The students will memorize Surahs in Chapter 29 and 30 of Quran(Audio CDs are provided for this purpose).
  • Memorization of some Duaas. Students will be expected to memorize Duaas related to Salaat and everyday affairs.
  • Practicing Salaats. The goal is to make sure children understand the importance of the Salaats as a direct connection btween Allah and us. They will also learn the proper form of the Salaats before they got to an age when it becomes mandatory. The parents' role is critical by being the best role model in practicing the prayers on time.
  • Fasing the month of Ramadan. We will emphasize the importance of fasting, and will encourage kids to fast during the month of Ramadan.
  • Islamic Morals & Manners. Our goal is to explain and discuss the Islamic Morals and Manners with the students. It is critical that the students understand the Morals and Manners of Islam in order for them to embrace it.
  • Introductory Fiqh. Students will leran Basic Fiqh, and Shariah & Usul-Fiqh.
  • Seerah. Life history and manners of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) will be taught at various levels.
  • Introductory Islamic History. Students will learn brief overview of Islamic history (Khulfaa-Rashidun, Omayyad & Abbasid periods, Muslim in Spain, Othman period, Crusades, Islam in Africa, and Islam in America.
  • Introductions to Prophets. Stories of Prophets.
  • Introduction to Hadith. Introduction to the science of Hadith and some important Ahadith
  • Faith & Worship. Articles of Faith, Five Pillars and Worship of Allah (SWT)

It is imperative to state that these goals cannot be achieved without the support, cooperation and follow up from the parents at home.
